Fruits: Laški Rizling; Sauvignon Blanc; Ravenec

High toned Laski Riesling and Ravenec, aromatic Muscats, and a silty minerality characteristic of the estate define this vintage. Thirst quenching and light on its feet with healthy acidity also make it difficult to set down. During the summers in the village of Jarenina, locals mix it with sparkling water and then proceed to consume well into the next day.

Made for us by Stefan Wellanschitz (of Kolfok fame) from his family estate. Cool site Blaufrankisch with a splash of Rotburger grown on soils of clay and basalt imparts a wonderful minerality. Whole cluster press with 24 hours skin contact gives it a beautiful color. Everything about this wine speaks to tradition and heritage: from the family vineyards to the used large 1500-3000 liter barrels made by a local cooper from trees in the Waldviertal used vintage after vintage. Only native yeasts are used, no fining and minimal amounts of sulphur. The Rosy Rose is intended for springtime delight, easy drinking deliciousness with family and friends.

Grapes : Carricante 70% - Catarratto 30%.
Medium straw yellow colour with a fragrant bouquet rich of citrus fruit and mineral notes, with hints of Mediterranean herbs. It is vibrant, fresh and sapid on the palate.
Soil : volcanic sand and rocks.
Training system : bush-training with chestnut poles. Up to 30 years old vines.
Vinification : soft pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts. Aging : 4 months in stainless steel tanks in contact with the fine lees and 2 months in the bottle.
